Ada

Findlay Cemetery, 2 Mile Rd NE & Cramton Ave NE:
 
  This cemetery is reported to be the resting place of the “Ada Witch”.  She is reported as being a misty blue figure and has been seen in several locations, including this cemetery and Seidman Park where the township believes she was murdered. 

The murder took place when a man who suspected his wife of having an affair followed her late one night when she met up with her lover in a field near their property.   The enraged husband killed his wife and had a violent brawl with the lover resulting in the eventual death of both men.

Local legend says that on nights preceding a full moon you can see her searching for her lover.  It has also been reported that the sounds of the struggle can be heard in Seidman Park.

 

Fallasburg

Fallasburg Bridge legend, Covered Bridge Rd:
 
  Legend tells of a witch that was hung in the area in the 1800s. Another legend tells of a young man that committed suicide by drowning at this bridge location. Apparitions have been seen, along with unexplained voices being heard.

 

Grand Rapids

Ameritech Building, Fountain and Division:
 
  Former site of the Randall's home in  late 1800's. Warren Randall worked for the  railroad, and lost one of his legs due to a railroad accident. He was given a wooden leg and was his mental state was never the same again. His temper grew and took it t regularly on his wife.  His wife eventually left him, but with constant promises from Warren, she returned to the house to talk about reconciliation. In the house, Warren bludgeoned his wife to death with his wooden leg, then committed suicide.

   The house was eventually torn down and the Michigan Bell Building was erected. It is now the Ameritech Building.

   Workers comment on strange knocking noises and screams from the 2nd floor. In a 2001 email, a visiting employee stated that the 2nd floor is off-limits and is closed down.

 

Amway Grand Plaza, 187 Monroe Ave:
 
  The old part of the hotel is now known as the Smoking Section.  Objects moving on their own is the activity that has been experienced.

 

Aquinas College, 1607 Robinson Rd:
 
  Holmdene Mansion.  It is rumored that this mansion (the former Lowe estate) located on the campus of Aquinas College is haunted with the spirit of one of the Lowe children; a small boy who according to stories drown on the property. Night security guards report turning off all lights in the locked and secured building and having them mysteriously turn on once again. Reports of water faucets turning on have also been mentioned.

 

Cornerstone University, 1001 E. Beltline:
 
  Pickett Hall. Numerous stories of a girl that waits outside of Pickett Hall during very late hours. She is always witnessed wearing the same 70's style dress, and often vanishes when she notices she is being watched.

 

Grand Inn, 3221 Plainfield Ave:
 
  Employees state seeing ghostly images in the halls. Night crew having the eerie feeling of being watched in the darkened areas of the Banquet Rooms. Stray light movement on the monitors. Reports of at least 2 people having died in the hotel when it was known as the Presidents Inn. Lights flickering at random. Eerie crackling in the phones at times. Phone lines going dead for no reason - despite new phone system and lines being installed. Night crew hearing footsteps in locked rooms above the lobby. Hearing voices in the pool area after it has been locked up for the night. Previously locked doors being found unlocked and opened.

Guests hearing loud noises like furniture being moved from rooms above them - when they are unoccupied. Staff seeing images fly across the monitors in unoccupied areas. Guests and staff losing items frequently. Keys missing. Doors opening and closing by themselves.

 

Grand Rapids Veterans Home, 3000 Monroe Ave NE:
 
  This Old Soldiers Home first opened in 1886 and its early residents were Civil War veterans. To the present day, apparitions of Civil War soldiers seen roaming the grounds and cemetery. Location featured in 'Ghost Stories Of The Civil War", by Dan Asfar.

 

Kelloggsville High School, 23 Jean St SW:
 
  In the 1960's, a young 9th grade girl, suffering from a brain tumor, had a massive seizure and died in the math classroom. The math classroom is a very small upstairs room that faces Division St.  Her presence can be felt all the time and lights will randomly turn on.

 

Ottawa Hills High School, 2055 Rosewood Ave:
 
  In North House Lecture Hall.  There is reports of strange noises such as water spilling on the floor, footsteps and things turning on by themselves. A girl who was dropped of early one morning decided to sit and wait in the hall until school had opened, reported that someone or something unseen pulled her hair.

     No one knows the source of haunting.

 

 St.Isidore School, 625 Spring Ave NE:
 
  Reports of water faucets going on all by themselves. There was one incident where a girl went to the upstairs bathroom and heard someone come in, but when she looked around no one was around.

 

Studio 28, 1350 28th St.(M-11):
 
 There is a rumor of a ghost who haunts the projection booth by theater 13. Some employees have seen a shadowy figure dart across the booth. Others have noticed objects moving on their own.

 

Private Residence, Norwich St:
 
  An apparition of an elderly man, dressed in 30s-40s style clothing, appears in a room on the second story of the home. At approximately 10:00 to 11:30 the specter wanders from the hallway and into the room. The former residents reported that the ghost walked to the middle of his room and stood there for minutes and then goes out into the hallway and stands. It is not known when he vanishes.

 

Holy Cross Cemetery, 2000 Walker Ave NW:
 
  "Glowing Nun" Legend. Takes place near one of the tombstones. You can only see this "glowing nun" during a full moon. When you see it, it is glowing and transparent. There is no logic of the source of light or why it glows like a hologram. After you drive past the tombstone it disappears.

 

Grandville

Grandville Cemetery, 3570 Prairie St. SW::
 
  A 300 year old cemetery, built as a Christian cemetery, dating back to the mid 1800`s. Reports include all types of hauntings, including people having extreme physical pain. In one case a young girl was rushed to the hospital only hours after visiting this cemetery. Some people using Ouija board claim to have made contact with an entity called "Edgar".

 

Kentwood

Private home, address withheld:
 
  A mother and young daughter can be heard talking to each other. An apparition of a cat has been seen hiding in corners, and then quickly dashing off. Curtains move with no windows open. The attic door opens sporadically.

 

Lowell

Hope Network West Lake, 11652 W Grand River Ave::
 
  Formerly a boys group home area. There are 6 cottages, a gym, and an administration building on site. Reports vary, but it is claimed that several years ago when it was a boys home, a group of boys were burned alive in one of the cottages caught fire. It is said by the current staff that occasionally you can smell something burning in that building. Lights burn out regularly and quickly. Items come up missing frequently.

The Administration building has a very "ominous" feeling to it. When darkened, it is almost terrifying. Several of the staff report the feeling of being watched while in the building. A few even report they will NOT go in there alone. Several staff have reported seeing strange apparitions, cold spots, and general creepy feelings in various areas of the property.

 

Rockford

Pegasus Sports, 43 East Bridge St:
 
  In downtown Rockford, there is an old building that used to be a bridal store. Before that, it was a restaurant. When it was completed, a young girl was murdered in the attic. Now, the attic is host to cold spots, screaming, orbs, and apparitions.

 

Pickeral Lake, exact trail location unknown:
 
  If you follow the trail to the back of the lake, There is a young boy who runs down the hill saying "I'm gonna push you in the lake". He then vanishes. Rumors are that a boy drowned here many years ago. He was staying at Camp Rogers (a camp for kids). The hill the boy runs down is just next to Camp Roger property. The trail is easily visible for 5 or 6 hundred feet.  Other people have claimed feeling an "eerie presence" on this trail.

Wolverine Worldwide, 9341 Courtland Dr:
 
  Built in 1903. 3rd shift employees have called the ghost "shadow man'. He stands over employees that are trying to ignore him. He has been known to follow some employees into the bathroom. Sometimes during break, a chair will pull out, as if he is joining the workers on break. Perhaps only a disembodied spirit who can't leave until the jobs done!

 

Sparta

Central Elementary, 200 Alma St:
 
  Reports of people talking, music playing, footsteps heard, and cold spots when the building is occupied only by night shift custodians. Witnessing of doors opening on their own after being locked and secured. One custodian has even felt someone or something touch his arm when no one was there. There have been numerous sightings of a short bearded man in the first grade hallway. The building is quite old and has went through numerous phases of remodeling and additions. When it stood as a 2 story High School there reports of a man looking out of a 2nd story window, by the people who lived across the street. This was during a time when custodians did not work at the building at night. The school is thought to be haunted by a young student and a night shift custodian. The student was crushed by a set of lockers that were not attached to the wall, while playing in the school after schools hours, and was killed. This happened in the early 1950`s. The night shift custodian died of diabetes at an early age. He was short with dark hair and a beard.
